Lastavica-Private Yacht experience in Croatia

Where to begin about this amazing experience. Croatia is a beautiful country and experiencing everything that Croatia has to offer on a private yacht made it 100x better. This family owned company makes everyone who comes aboard the ship feel like family. From the owner of the yacht being on board, to the ships Captain who is also a owner and the son of the other owner. The mini cruisers/ ships are the result of the cooperation between Croatian shipbuilders and the captain’s ideas combined with his sailing experience. Because of the family environment, Lastavica is proud of their crew who will do their very best to accommodate the wishes of each traveler and make the Croatian cruise highly enjoyable.

The yacht was easy to navigate, had all the amenities a traveler could need or want and provided a high quality experience for everyone.

The yacht has a length of 49 meters. There are 18 spacious air-conditioned cabins with private toilets, Lounge bar (VIP salon), jacuzzi, spacious sun deck, reception, modern kitchen, restaurant and hostess on bord.

The ship offers:

  • All around modern ship with brand new technology

  • 18 spacious air-conditioned cabins with private toilets

  • Lounge bar (VIP salon)

  • Wifi

  • Jacuzzi

  • Spacious sun deck

  • Restaurant/dining room

  • Hostess/Yacht Manager “cruise Director” on board

I was blessed to travel on the yacht for two different weeks in 2024. The first trip was in August and the next trip was in September. The August itinerary started in Split and ended in Sibenik, Croatia. Then the September itinerary departed from Sibenik and sailed to Split, Croatia. Each itinerary included different ports which made the two weeks on the yacht an adventure. I was excited to experience different parts of Croatia and meet lots of new travelers on each sailing.

From the moment we arrived the crew was welcoming and helped us with our luggage. They even let LH World Travel board a little early since we arrived at the dock earlier than expected. Right from the start my travel companion and I were introduced to the crew, given a cool drink (It was so HOT that day) and offered some snacks. As the other travelers arrived, the Yacht Manager checked them in and directed them to the upstairs dining area for the safety briefing and welcome. We soon set sail on our Croatian Lastavica trip. The sailing started off with a welcome toast and we were seated in the outdoor dining room with other travelers to enjoy a multi-course lunch. The food was amazing and the drinks were never empty. While there isn’t a “drink package” like on other cruises, the drink prices are reasonable and you don’t pay until he end. The waiter and waitress made sure they knew all the potential allergies that all travelers had and quickly learned the travelers names and their drink preferences.

The daily swim stops were definitely a highlight of the trip. Each day around 11am the crew would drop the anchor and the travelers have the chance to swim in the beautiful Adriatic Sea. Whether travelers wanted to dip their toes in, or jump feet first, the cool refreshing water was great. There was floats, a kayak, paddle board and lily pad for the travelers to enjoy during the swim stops. Lastavica even offers some snorkeling gear for travelers to explore the sea. The crew had music playing and drinks flowing. There was even a delicious spicy key lime shot.

Arriving in the ports was another great experience. Being a private yacht, Lastavica docked right in the heart of the old towns. There was no need to get a tender or wait in long lines. Travelers got to come and go as the pleased. It was a fun experience on some days we were docked a few ships from the dock, so travelers crossed through the other ships to get to the dock. I loved seeing the inside of the other ships as we crossed through them. Being in the heart of the towns made it easy to come and go throughout the day. Unlike typical cruising where passengers have to hurry back on board by a certain time, with Lastavica, the yacht is docked over night in the same dock so travelers can spend as much time as they want exploring the ports, engaging with the communities and eating and drinking with the locals. Another great aspect of the sailing with Lastavica is there is no need to plan excursions or activities in advance. The Yacht Manager provides daily briefings about the destination we are sailing too and can help travelers book an excursion or activity for that day.

The experience on the Lastavica private yacht was outstanding. The most relaxing vacation I had ever been on. The idea that you can go on vacation and see and do things, really everything you could want to do, but yet not really have to plan in advance anything but reserving the cabin on the yacht was something I wasn’t used too, but now I cant wait to go back. Oh and 80% of the travelers who were with me in either August or September are coming back with me again in October 2025. Woo Hoo! So if you want to experience the “yacht life” and explore the beautiful country of Croatia, then traveling on the Lastavica is definitely the way to do it. You will NOT be disappointed.
