The Eyes of a Lion
If you have ever spent any time with me and if you know/believe anything about birth order characteristics, personality traits, and astrology you will understand why I am the way I am, why I choose to create my business plan the way I did and most importantly, why I want to share my passion for travel with as many people as I can.
I know some people don’t believe in birth order characteristics, personality traits based on being a red-head or believe that being born at a certain time of the year can guide how a person acts (which is totally fine, you do you and I will still love and respect you for having your beliefs, while I have mine) but as I have grown older and learned who I was and who I wanted to be I know that birth order, my red hair and the time in which I was born, has truly shaped who I am.
If you don’t know what being a red-headed, middle child, Leo means here are some characteristics that truly have described me my entire life. First Leos are known for being confident, loyal, and natural-born leaders. They are also known for being:
Action-oriented and eager to make things happen and are often the ones who take charge.
Enjoy being in the spotlight and receiving attention from others.
Fiercely protective of their loved ones and feel responsible for others.
Generous with themselves and like to give off their light so others can shine.
Creative and often develop innovative ideas or solutions to problems.
Independent, which can sometimes make them seem distant or unapproachable.
Honest and won't back down from a stance once it's been taken.
Tenderhearted and have sensitive natures.
Red-Headed often seen as being outgoing and adventurous. According to Google, red-heads are creative and artistic and have a love for exploration and travel. People with red hair also tend to have a fiery temperament and can be quick to react emotionally. They are often perceived as being passionate and intense. Other characteristics and something that is being researched is how red-headed people have a different level of pain tolerance (I know you are wondering why that has anything to do with traveling and creating a travel design company…well it does! See Blog Post 2-LH World Travel-The Beginning of the Adventure!) Check out this link to the National Institute of Health (NIH) about their study link- “Study finds link between red hair and pain threshold” by Erin Bryant. Being a red-head is also a rarity. Some studies show that true red-heads are only 1-2 out of 100 people. That uniqueness also has guided me to who I am as an adult (more about that later, but let’s just say when you don’t look like every one in the room, you stand out, you are remembered for the “good” or the “bad”).
Being a middle child, I was blessed to have an older sister and a younger brother. There is a lot of research as well as disagreement on the idea of birth-order and how it effect or influences the development of certain personality traits. According to “What to Know About Middle-Child Syndrome” which was medically reviewed by Smitha Bhandari, MD and “12 Definitive Traits of a Middle Child” by Emily Dinuzzo if you believe in the so called “Middle Child Syndrome” here are some characteristics of a middle child.
Middle children are often self-reliant and Independent. They may have more realistic expectations than other siblings and are less likely to be spoiled.
Middle children are often good mediators and Negotiators.
Middle children may be more Friendship-oriented than family.
Middle children may have Feelings of alienation that they don't belong because the oldest siblings get the spotlight for their achievements, and the younger siblings get attention because of their youth.
While some of these sound so negative, but I don’t think they are. I do think for me, being a middle child has definitely shaped who I was as a child and ABSOLUTELY shaped who I am as an adult.
Over the years, I have been blessed with wonderful opportunities, overcome many challenges, crossed paths with LOTS of people and have had amazing experiences that have helped me discover who I am. So whether it is the red-headed, middle child or the LEO characteristics, I don’t really know for sure, but what I do know is… I am proud of my journey… I am living life to the fullest… I cherish my adventures… and I look forward to the next one! I am so incredibly blessed.
